I am a fully qualified, traditional acupuncturist working from clinics in Sketty and Mumbles. I have always been interested in healthcare and practiced as a nurse for many years before training as an acupuncturist. I first became interested in acupuncture when I was having treatment for my own ill health and in 2012, after experiencing first-hand the benefits of acupuncture on my mind, body and emotions, I decided to train as an acupuncturist at The Acupuncture Academy in Leamington Spa. The training was extensive and covered all aspects of Chinese medical and acupuncture theory, with a focus on the Five Element approach.
I continue to update my knowledge and skills on a regular basis, studying with leading figures in the field of acupuncture. I have a special interest in women’s health, but I also treat a wide range of conditions for both men and women. My post-graduate study has included pain management, cancer care, fertility, electro-acupuncture, auricular acupuncture and cosmetic acupuncture.
I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC), the professional body that represents practitioners who have completed an accredited course in acupuncture. The BAcC maintains standards of education, ethics, practice and discipline to ensure the health and safety of the public.
British Acupuncture Council members are also registered with the Professional Standards Authority which is a government body set up to regulate health and social care providers.
My clinics are licensed by the City and County of Swansea and I hold full medical and public/products liability insurance cover.
My clinic, previously based at The Acupuncture Centre Mumbles has now relocated to Cherry Grove, Sketty and Castleton Walk Arcade, Mumbles.
